Ingredients :
For Dough
- 1 Cup Wheat Flour
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
- Salt To Taste
For Filling :
- 1 Cuo Boiled and Mashed Green Peas
- 1 Green Chilli (Finely Chopped)
- 1 Teaspoon Fennel Seeds (Variyali)
- 1 Teaspoon Sugar
- 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
- 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Coriander (Finely Chopped)
- 1 Teaspoon Oil
- Salt To Taste
Method :
For Dough :
- Mix all the ingredients and knead into a soft dough using water as needed.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions.
- make each into a ball and keep it aside.
For Filling :
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add green chillies, fennel seeds and mashed green peas.
- Cook for a minute or two and then add lemon juice, sugar, salt, coriander and garam masala powder.
- Mix everything and cook for two more minutes.
- Remove from the flame and cool down the mixture.
For Making Parathas :
- Roll out dough ball into small chapati.
- Add 1 Tablespoon filling in it.
- Cover the mixture by drawing up the edges towards the centre.
- Roll out the ball into a round Paratha as large as a saucer.
- Heat a tawa and place the paratha on it.
- Cook the parantha adding oil till golden brown on both sides.
- Repeat the procedure with remaining dough balls and filling.
Serve hot with Yogurt (Curd) or Tomato Ketchup.
Tip : You can make different kinds of parathas just by changing the filling. Below are few recipes of different filling used for making parathas.
Filling for Panner Paratha : Mix 1 cup grated paneer, 1 finely chopped green chilli, finely chopped coriander, 1 tsp aamchoor (dry mango) powder and salt to taste.
Filling for Kela Paratha : Boil, peel and mash two raw bananas. Add 1 chopped green chilli, 2 tsp sugar, 1 tsp lemon juice, salt, garam masala powder and finely chopped coriander.
