Ingredients :
- 2 cups Moong
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1/2 tsp Mustard (Rai) Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Cumin (Jeera) Seeds
- pinch of Asofoetida (Hing)
- 3-4 Kokum/ 1 tsp Aamchoor Powder
- Salt To Taste
- 1 tsp Red Chiili Powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric (Haldi) Powder
- 1 Dry Green Chilli
- 5-6 Dry Curry Leaves
Method :
Wash and boil the whole green moong in a pressure cooker(around 3 whistles). Heat oil in pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chilli, asofoetida and curry leaves. Add boiled and drained moong , salt and aamchhoor powder. Add red chilli powder and turmeric as well. Add 1/2 cup of water as needed. Mix everything nicely and bring it to a boil.
Serve hot With Roti, Bhakri Or Rice.
Tip : You can use lemon juice instead of dry mango (Aamchoor) Powder or kokum if making on a regular day (other than tithi). You can also add fresh chopped coriander.
